Book Review - Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury

The part of this book I found most interesting is Bradbury's prophesy that our technology would somehow replace our real relationships. The image Montag's wife, Midred, sitting in the "parlor", between 3 screen walls, talking to ...her "family" - the interactive characters on television, is haunting. I know people who have sacrificed their marriages and their family for their internet community pseudo relationships. I say this as I write on a blog that few people will read.

Book Review - For Whom the Bell Tolls - Ernest Hemingway

I'm glad I didn't have to choose sides in the Spanish Civil War and I'm glad I'll never have to read this book again. About half way through this book I was saying, "Just blow the bridge and get yourself killed already!" There's only so much foreshadowing I can take. I obscenity in the milk of this book.

I didn't get much reading done last month. I think it correlates with my buying an i-phone. I'll do better this month.

==========================================================

Books I Can Remember that I’ve Read (In no particular order)

I'm only counting text books if I read the entire thing.
I'm counting books that I read more than half of but stopped because I couldn't stomach it (Lolita) or hated (Moby Dick). I'm not counting books that are mostly pictures (The Cat in the Hat) although they are still some of my favorite books. I'm counting books twice if I read them in English and in Spanish. Also, I have not counted all the Bathroom Readers, mostly because I'm ashamed of how much time I spend on the pot. I've read almost all of them though.
