Dane's new trick

Lately when Michelle asks Dane to do something he doesn't want to do (take a bath, eat his food,ext) he pretends to be asleep. Unfortunately for him I've been using that trick for the last 10 years, so Michelle doesn't fall for it anymore.

(You'll want to pause the playlist to the right so you can hear the video. I'll have to figure out how to fix that someday.)

Book Review: The Pirate Hunter - The True Story of Captain Kidd, by Richared Zacks

I just finished reading The Pirate Hunter: The True Story of Captain Kid, by Richard Zacks, and now I totally want to be a pirate. But I don't' want to get scurvy, and I don't think I'd be able to have a bowel movement straddling the plank with a hole in it at the head of the boat with all the other pirates watching me. Also, my ingrained morals would prevent me from stealing, murdering or raping, and that's really what being a pirate is all about, isn't it. I guess I really just want to wear frilly clothes, talk funny and ride around in a boat. I should probably just go on a gay cruise.

==========================================================

Books I Can Remember that I’ve Read (In no particular order)

I'm only counting text books if I read the entire thing.
I'm counting books that I read more than half of, but stopped because I couldn't stomach it (Lolita) or just because I hated it(Moby Dick). I'm not counting books that are mostly pictures (The Cat in the Hat), although they are still some of my favorite books. I'm counting books twice if I read them both in English and in Spanish. Also, I'm not counting the Bathroom Readers; mostly because I'm ashamed of how much time I spend on the pot. I've read almost all of them though.

Book Review - The Four Agreements - A Toltec Wisdom Book

I read The Four Agreements, by Don Miguel Ruiz, with a bad attitude because of the way it was given to me. About 3 years ago I went to a physician's retreat held by the company I work for. There had been quite a bit of turn over in the physician's division at the time - doctors just up and quitting. The head of the physician's division had a psychiatrist, who was also trained in Native American shamanism, come and speak to us. So, instead of addressing legitimate concerns - pay cuts and increased administrative interference in our practices, they hired a medicine man to teach us how to meditate and gave us a self help book of "Toltec Wisdom", hoping this would keep us all happy at work. I had read small bits of the book over the last few years. I finally finished it because I ran out of things to read on the toilet. The actual "Four Agreements", 1. Be Impeccable With Your Word 2. Don't Take Anything Personally 3. Don't Make Assumptions 4. Always Do Your Best, are all actually good ideas. But the whole time I read this book I was thinking to myself, "I should write a self help book my self and call it, 'Don't Piss Me Off!'" Everyone should read it. (It will probably help me more than it will you. I also admit that I probably missed the entire point of "The Four Agreements".)
