I need 7 more birds to make an even 200 for the year. Not exactly a big year, but not bad for my first year birding. I saw and heard a Say's Phoebe when I was down in Las Vegas last week. Today I saw a Baird's Sandpiper and a Common Golden Eye out at Antelope Island. Also, check out the pictures of the Meadowlark in the snow. If anyone has any suggestions of near by places in Utah (I can't afford anymore big trips this year) where I can pick up a few new birds, even in the Winter, I would appreciate it.

Update: Went to Disneyland this week and got to go to Bolsa Chica Reserve. I saw a Reddish Egret, a Black Phoebe, a Savanah Sparrow and some Western Gulls. 3 more to go to get an even 200 for the year.

November 24th Update: I went to Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge today to see the Tundra Swans that are migrating through. I saw several of them, some pretty close. I also saw a couple of rough legged hawks. The resident Swainson's Hawk seemed glad to see me. The Tundra Swan put me at an even 200! Not to bad for my first year birding.
